Privacy Policy
How RideXpress handles information when you book a ride on ridexpress.in or use the RideXpress app.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
1. Who we are
RideXpress provides airport, outstation and local taxi services, booked through ridexpress.in, the RideXpress app and by phone. In this policy, "we" and "us" means RideXpress.
2. Information we collect
When you book a ride (on the website, in the app or by phone): your name, mobile number, email address and address; pickup and drop locations; travel date and time; trip type and vehicle choice; any coupon code or notes you add; and the fare, booking status and trip history that follow from the booking.
When you create an account: your name, mobile number, email address, address and a password.
When we verify your number: we send a one-time code to your mobile number on WhatsApp.
When you pay: the payment method you choose, and any UPI reference or payment screenshot you choose to submit so we can confirm a payment. We keep a record of payments received for each ride.
When you rate a trip: your star rating and any comment you write.
When you contact us: what you send through our contact and corporate enquiry forms, and your email address if you sign up for our newsletter.
Drivers: while a driver has an active trip open in the RideXpress app, the app sends the driver's location to us about every 30 seconds. We keep the latest position and show it to the customer whose trip it is.
Technical information: like any website, our servers and our content-delivery provider receive standard request information such as your IP address and browser type.
3. How we use it
- To take, confirm, schedule and fulfil your booking, including assigning a driver and vehicle.
- To send you booking updates, one-time codes and invoices by WhatsApp and email, and, if you allow notifications in the Android app, by push notification.
- To show you your current and previous rides and, during an active trip, your driver's last reported location.
- To record payments, issue invoices and keep our accounts.
- To answer your enquiries and provide support.
- To send our newsletter, only if you opted in. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how our website is used and how our advertising performs (see section 5).
4. Who we share it with
- Your driver and their vehicle operator receive the details needed to carry out your trip, such as your name, mobile number, pickup and drop locations and travel time.
- Service providers that run parts of our service for us: a WhatsApp messaging provider (UltraMsg) for one-time codes and booking messages; Zoho for email; Google for maps and address search (Google Maps Platform), map images, Android push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and website analytics and advertising measurement; Meta for advertising measurement on some public pages; and Cloudflare, which delivers our website.
- When the law requires it, we may disclose information to the authorities.
5. Cookies and analytics on our website
Our public pages use cookies, including cookies set by Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads, and on some pages the Meta Pixel. They help us measure visits and the performance of our advertising. We do not load these tools on the account deletion page. Our own site also uses cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms.
6. The RideXpress app
- Customers: the app uses the account and booking information described above. The customer side of the app does not access your device location.
- Drivers: the app asks for location permission and uses it only while a trip is active and the trip screen is open. It does not track drivers in the background.
- Notifications (Android): if you allow notifications, the app registers a device token with us and with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send booking updates. Signing out removes it.
- The app does not contain advertising or third-party analytics tools.
7. How long we keep information
Booking, invoice, payment and commission records are part of our business and accounting records and are kept when an account is closed. We have not yet set fixed retention periods for other information. Until we publish them, you can ask us at any time what we hold about you and ask us to delete it, using the contact details below.
8. Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your RideXpress customer account:
- in the app, from Profile → Delete account; or
- on the web at ridexpress.in/account-deletion, by confirming your mobile number with a one-time code.
We review each request. Bookings that are still in progress must be completed or cancelled first, and we check for any payment that is still outstanding. When we close your account, we sign you out everywhere and you can no longer sign in. Booking, invoice and payment records are kept, as explained in section 7.
Driver accounts are set up by RideXpress operations. Drivers who want their account closed should contact us using the details below.
9. Your choices
- Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Request account deletion as described in section 8.
- Turn off notifications or location access for the app at any time in your phone's settings.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any newsletter email.
